Depression Central
Mega-loads of info. about depression.

Please remember: if you have depression - suicide is not an answer to depressive thoughts. Suicidal thoughts are a symptom of depression - they are not instructional thoughts, just symptomatic thoughts. Please don't let a temporary thought make a permanent end to your life. Following are resources for people who are depressed and feeling suicidal:

If you are feeling like ending your life, please read this first.
This is a good place to let your thoughts rest on something else for awhile and is the best online place for anyone considering ending their life. This webpage is a true life saver.

The Samaritans
I haven't had experience with this group, but I think they sound pretty interesting. They offer confidential suicide and depression support by email. It isn't good for crisis situations, since you have to wait for your volunteer to email you back, but a great place for support. They are located in England, but they help people around the world. Again, these are unpaid volunteers and this is a confidential, free service.

The National Suicide Hotline is: 1-800-SUICIDE. If you call this number, they will not ask for your name ... it is completely confidential. You can talk about anything - including the things that are hard to talk about to people you know. The volunteers will not judge you. They are volunteering out of a genuine love and desire to help people in crisis.
